I went to see the Black and White Picasso exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum in NYC and was excited to find artworks that were new to me. I returned to my studio in California and made several new drawings and paintings based on those Picasso images. My “Paloma” painting colorizes a small black and white Picasso painting. I added some architectural elements to the background to create a believable but impossible three-dimensional space within my own version of Picasso’s painting.
